Lust as an Impact

Lust as an Impact by Dreamyvolver
Finished September 6th, 2007

"A rainbow can only become visual when there's rain and the sun is shining. I'm the rain, you're the sun. We're both of a great importance to each other to keep the link and certainly the bond between us. Without even knowing it. I can rain without you shining. You can shine without me raining. We can both be. Easily by breathing. But just being isn't always that great. You can shine on the other half of the planet. Clouds can distort your lightbeams. I can be soft rain. I can be stormy rain. I can be snow. But that's all a pudding of the situation of the time being. Why can't we just make a pudding of our being and melt together. No matter what the situation is. You shine, I rain, so we form a colourful bond with a great treasure at its feet. And i don't think it's gold. I think it's time. The treasure of the time we're together, as one, a rainbow. Rainbows are everlasting. As long as it will rain and the sun will shine. No matter what situation."

There is no rainbow without rain.
There is no rainbow without sunlight.
No rain, sun melts, dries out.
No sunlight, no rain.
Together.
As one.

Smash down the walls, even though you keep rebuilding them.
Together.
As one.

Down to the roots.
We're all moonboots.
One step closer.

This took me way too long.
Maybe it's even overdone.
But I don't care.
I like it.

your work is disturbing and beautiful. this piece in particular strikes some sort of chord. it's right out of a dream. seems like you are very connected to the unconscious and also have the talent and fearlessness to get it across. the poem is a great compliment too. it helped me understand where the piece came from. Looking at it I didn't get rain and sun = rainbows. What I got was imperfection of two people joining together, their impermanence, and a sense of some sort of raw animalistic sensuality. For me the disintegrating form of the woman floating over the couple feels uncomfortable - it's not clear whether she is breaking off from the couple below or somehow (de)manifesting from their union. Either way, for me there is a sense of something being lost. She seems to be somehow connected to the rainbow. I was curious what (if any) ideas you had while you were creating this.
